This beef and broccoli recipe is EASY, HEALTHIER than going out because it's baked, and FASTER than calling for takeout!!

Equipment

  • 1 Wok Large skillet
  • 1 9x13 Baking Dish
  • 1 Pressure Cooker Optional - Rice

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce Substitute Gluten-Free options
  • 4 to 5 cloves garlic finely minced or pressed
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar packed
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes optional and to taste
  • 2 pounds flank steak sliced against the grain in bite size pieces
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch Substitute Arrowroot powder (GF)
  • 1 tablespoon cold water optional
  • 2 to 3 green onions Sliced optional
  • 2 Cup Rice Optional Sub Ramen

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • In a Large Pan or Wok start browning the Steak. Add garlic and sauté for 5 mins or until cooked through.
  • Add Sauce to pan (Soy Sauce, Rice Vinegar, Honey, Sugar, Ginger and Sesame oil, pepper flakes) and Place Broccoli on top. Simmer for 5 mins.
  • Remove Everything from pan and place into 9x13 or similar baking dish. Leaving liquid in pan.
  • Mix cornstarch and water to a slurry before adding to sauce in pan to thicken.
  • Pour thickened sauce over the top before placing in oven Covered for 10-15 mins.
  • Remove from the oven and Serve with Rice or Ramen Noodles.

Notes

· Beef: The fattier the better. Less fat means steak is tougher and more chewy.
· Soy Sauce: Main source of Moisture and SALT
· Honey/Brown Sugar: Adds the SWEET!
· Sesame Oil: Main flavoring, A little goes a long way.
· Rice Vinegar: Compliments the Soy Sauce and Sesame Oil.
