This beef and broccoli recipe is EASY, HEALTHIER than going out because it’s baked, and FASTER than calling for takeout!!

· Beef: The fattier the better. Less fat means steak is tougher and more chewy.
· Soy Sauce: Main source of Moisture and SALT
· Honey/Brown Sugar: Adds the SWEET!
· Sesame Oil: Main flavoring, A little goes a long way.
· Rice Vinegar: Compliments the Soy Sauce and Sesame Oil.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 4 to 5 cloves garlic, finely minced or pressed
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons ground ginger
  • pinch cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes, optional and to taste
  • 1 to 1.25 pounds flank steak, sliced against the grain in bite size pieces
  • about 4 to 6 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch, optional
  • 1 tablespoon cold water, optional
  • 2 to 3 green onions sliced, optional

Cooking Instructions

Temperature: 350 Degrees

Time: 15-25 Minutes

  1. Preheat Oven and in a Large Pan or Wok start browning the Steak. Add garlic and sauté for 5 mins or until cooked through.
  2. Add Sauce to pan (Soy Sauce, Rice Vinegar, Honey, Sugar, Ginger and Sesame oil, pepper flakes) and Place Broccoli on top. Simmer for 5 mins.
  3. Remove Everything from pan and place into 9×13 or similar baking dish. Leaving liquid in pan.
  4. Thicken the Sauce in pan with cornstarch and water to desired thickness. Pour over the top before placing in oven Covered for 10-15 mins.
  5. Remove from the oven and Serve with Rice or Ramen Noodles.
